Today I’m talking about an SMS case study from the company called EducationAhead.com. Last night watching some Tv I noticed a banner at the bottom of the cable guide. Except, that it had a text call-to-action that read: “Text AHEAD To 77948″. “WHOA!” I thought to myself, someone’s using text message marketing to generate leads from cable subscribers! Let’s take a look-see!
First off, I don’t know much about the company, other than they are an education advisor company. So I guess that means they help people find the type of training or schooling they need to move forward with the career they want. Ok, works for me, but let’s try out their text marketing campaign.
Ok, so far so good, they’ve got branding & standard disclaimers telling consumers what they’ve opted in for each month. Not bad not bad, let’s try out that nifty EducationAhead.com/tv link they sent me. (notice I didn’t link to it on purpose)
Well, they were off to a great start! The funny thing is, the link they posted obviously isn’t even working yet. FaiL. I have to believe that paying for advertising on a cable channel guide like Charter is pretty expensive. One would think that you’d want to make sure all your T’s are crossed & your i’s are dotted. I don’t know that’s just me. We’ll see if I get any other messages from them & what they say. Hey, who knows, that link may just work someday! I’ll keep you posted.
